How I Got Started…

Since I was a child, I’ve always had an interest in puzzles and Rubik’s cubes, but it wasn’t until 2006 when I was able to fully learn how to solve the 3×3.  I took a trip to Arkansas to hang out with my cousins for a week, and it was on that trip when they taught me the beginner’s method to solving the Rubik’s Cube.  From there, I just solved from time to time, but little did I realize the excitement that was ahead of me.

I heard about cubers who were solving the cube in under 15 seconds!  I thought that was pretty amazing and I revered them for their speed, but it made me wonder if there was something different that they were doing that I could do.  That’s when I took my cubing to a whole new level.

When I became a speedcuber…

I actually stopped solving the cube before I realized that there were better ways to solve it (F2L, Pochman, Petrus), and then I decided that I was going to learn how to get faster.  I dedicated my time to researching which cubes were the best, the techniques to solving, and the best tutorials to watch.  It was during that research that I discovered DIY (Do-It-Yourself) cubes.

I read that it was the best way to ensure how to increase my time the most, so I went into it full force…  Unfortunately, I didn’t know that there were better cubes than the Rubik’s brand.  I bought two of their DIY’s before I realized there were other companies out there that had better cubes for me to use.  Long story short, I have many different cubes that I’ve used to get to where I am today.

What I do now…

I am happily solving the 3×3 around 20 seconds per solve and my fastest time is 13.76, so I prefer the best of the best when it comes to speedsolving.  However, many people do not have the money to buy every cube out there nor the time to learn every method.

I’ve now taught many people how to solve a Rubik’s cube and many other puzzles over my years of perfecting my own tutorial methods, but I thought to myself… There’s really not many websites that just tell you how it is with the cubing community and the best style that fits you.  There are plenty of sites, yes, but none are remotely close to being popular except for a select few.

Well I’m here to tell you that I decided to change that.  My purpose of this site is to review and criticize every puzzle, method, and respect cubers out there for beginners (and even advanced cubers) to read and decide for themselves whether or not they should make a purchase with the best price, the best method that fits them, and the best cuber to follow through YouTube.  Whatever the case may be, I will be sure to fill you in on all the details so you get the information that you’re looking for.

I hope you find everything that you need on this website, and I look forward to meeting you and helping you get to where you want to be as a speedcuber!

Cheers!
